Summer Wheat Beer with Coriander
A dry, easy to drink version of an American Summer Wheat beer.  Good for the hot days of summer ahead of us!

Belgian-style wheat beers. or  witbiers. often use coriander paired with orange or lemon peel.  While this is definitely not a Belgian-style wheat beer, we added an ounce of fresh cracked coriander to the final five minutes of the boil to extract the orange-y aroma and flavor.

The coriander we used comes from and Indian specialty store and seems to be a little more
strong and pungent than the variety I've used before.

The hop bill for this beer is a little eccentric - I buy hops in bulk (hops can be expensive and this holds down our costs) and wanted to use up some remnents I had on hand.   All certified organic, the Pacific Gem hops provide most of the bittering and the Cascade are predominant in both flavor and aroma.  The Cascade also compliment the coriander, with its citrusy flavors.
